Working with SOJ as project manager, Mr. Davies managed the property acquisition, design, construction and financing for the $150 million Portland Streetcar Loop project. His duties included coordination of design and construction teams during planning and construction and working with the various city, state and county agencies to acquire property and obtain permits and approvals as well as the formation of a local improvement district to provide funding for the project

NW 3rd and 4th Ave Redevelopment

Mr Davies worked with the Portland Development Commission and the Old Town Chinatown neighborhood to design and build streetscape improvements and festival streets in downtown Portland.  Working with the neighborhood and property owners to catalyze private development, the project built new streets, funded storefront improvements, created redevelopment plans for private property and built festival streets for neighborhood celebrations and gatherings.


Reno, NV Streetcar Development Plan. 

Mr. Davies managed the analysis of redevelopment potential, preferred routes and projected costs of a six-mile streetcar line in Reno, NV.  The study included the development of a finance strategy to design and construct a streetcar project with broad community input and support. 


Washington DC Streetcar Development.

Mr. Davies was Project Manager for the initiation of a 37-mile Washington DC Streetcar System. He managed the process to negotiate and hire a contractor for the Operation and Maintenance of the initial segments of the streetcar system for the District of Columbia’s Department of Transportation. This work involved leading and managing a variety of consultants; developing cost estimates and operating plans; and managing and coordinating with the design-build team.
